Waste Management & Recycling

  • Recycling is a fundamental principle to SJB.
  • No one likes waste and these days everyone is required to prevent and prove it with Site Waste Management Plans.
  • Over a relatively short period of time recycling has become high profile and more cost effective, which has ensured that an industry has developed to allow materials to be processed more effectively.
  • Everyone’s environmental awareness has increased for the better.
  • SJB promote a culture of recycling and waste minimisation and resource protection.
  • We take recycling very seriously, the cost of waste disposal has increased significantly over a short period of time, partly due to landfill tax increases, meaning that even a small amount of waste can have significant cost effect, therefore it is even more critical that recycling processes are robust and effective.
  • We go to extraordinary lengths to ensure materials are salvaged and recycled.
  • We ensure the volume of materials recycled are recorded and reported accordingly.
  • Our Clients can feel confident that the arising’s generated from the demolition activity are dealt with in an environmental, economical, efficient and legal way.

  • We employ the very latest Ecologically Advanced equipment. Through a process of continual investment we have ensured our equipment remains at the cutting edge. “ECO” Powered equipment uses the very latest technology and causes far less  impact on the environment than standard older machines  operated by many of our piers
  • We constantly re-view processes and procedures to ensure we employ the most up to date recycling techniques.
  • The majority of the waste from our sites is recycled – we aim to recycle
  • 90% of waste per project, thus reducing the amount of waste going to landfill, which in turn helps to minimise the cost to our clients.
  • Recycling is increasingly centred on waste reduction, reuse, as well as recovering energy from waste.
  • Our aim is to promote waste prevention, increase recycling, and ensure better use of resources, while protecting human health and the environment by Applying the waste hierarchy as a priority order in waste prevention and management legislation and policy.
