Many of our competitors are happy to focus purely on ensuring operatives meet minimum training requirements for operatives to achieve entry onto site.  We believe appropriate training is only the start of Competent workforce.

A competent workforce ensures a cluster of related abilities, commitments, knowledge & skills are acquired enabling a team to become effective in any situation.

Competence is a combination of knowledge of training and demonstration of skill, enabling competent persons to act effectively in a wide variety of situations. Because each level of responsibility has its own requirements, competence can occur in any period of a person’s life or any stage of a career.

The whole work force & subcontractors are actively encouraged to share knowledge & develop understanding of  skill’s,  allowing an increase in combined competence.

Simple examples of competence range from one to one mentoring ensuring development of  an individual’s experience, knowledge  and skill through to formal training / practical and on-going assessment such as NVQ’s and formal qualification.

Individual competence and records of training are recorded on a Matrix, which is used to identify training at a Glance.
